Peace Poster 2011 - 2012

Lion Clubs International sponsor an annual Peace Poster competition at local schools. Woking Lions Club support this and award cash prizes to local winners. If you are interested in entering your school please email john.cooper@wokinglions.org.uk. for more details.

Welcome to the Website of Woking Lions Club, one of over 44,000 such clubs which form Lions Clubs International, the largest service club organisation in the world. There are over 1.4Avril Surridge (President) million members serving their communities in over 190 countriesworldwide.

The prime object of the members of Woking Lions Club is to help people in the Woking area who are less fortunate than themselves. Only a very small percentage of our funds is earmarked for international projects, such as eye camps and water wells in third world countries and supporting people caught up in disasters. Our motto is "We Serve" more.

7pm with the concert starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £10 (children half price) to include an interval drink.

Parking will be available by kind permission of Horsell Village School in its playground (opposite St Mary's Church) and there is further roadside parking in Lych Way and Wilson Way on either side of the church off Church Hill.

Message in a Bottle

Woking Lions in conjunction with other clubs in SW Surrey launched in September 2003 a scheme called Message in a Bottle. This provides free Message in a Bottleissue of data bottles from local Surgeries and Pharmacies and is targetted at single people living on their own, especially the elderly who are incapacitiated, have a poor medical history or are under medical treatment.

If you are interested in hearing more about our work or would would like to help those in the community who are less fortunate than ourselves, why not come along to one of our meetings and find out more about us? Membership is open to both men and women over eighteen years with with no upper age limit.
